About Jean Marie Campbell

Born in London, England, to a military family, Jean grew up in Hawaii, New Jersey, and Florida before returning to her parents' home state of Alabama. She attended the University of Montevallo, where she graduated with a degree in fine arts.

Following college, Jean married, had two daughters and continued practicing music and art while living in Biloxi, Ms, Mobile, Alabama and Baton Rouge, La.

Jean returned to the Birmingham area, working both in fine arts and a new discipline discovered along the way  – digital artwork on the computer. The hours working on the computer took their toll and after the birth of her second child, Jean experienced a debilitating back injury, keeping her down for close to two years.

"Yoga was an integral part of my recovery," recounts Jean. "I owe my lifeto my practice."

Jean now enjoys playing music, creating art and is working on a year long yoga teacher certification program at Heatwood Yoga. Jean will receive her certification the end of May, 2009.
